Equipment Update: New Helium Compressor
We are pleased to announce that the BIMR took possession of a new helium compressor within our Cryogenics Facility over the summer. After a lengthy install and testing period, the compressor is now online and working well. We want to thank the University Research Infrastructure Oversight Board (URIOB), as well as the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Engineering for generous financial support for this urgently needed infrastructure upgrade. I also want to thank Paul Dube for his tireless effort throughout the installation and commissioning process. This upgrade will ensure a continuous supply of He to our NMR facility as well as various researchers that perform low temperature experiments and analyses.
